This was an outstanding trip! The walking was wonderful, the places we stayed could not have been better, and the meals were really super. The leaders, Sandy Brown, Giovanni Ramaccioni, and Roland Tempest ("JJ") were extremely helpful, informative, and fun to be with. The pace was very good; no one had to struggle to keep up but none of us felt held back. The weather was very hot, and the leaders were quick to make arrangements for the van to be available for anyone who needed a break. This was our second Pilgrim Paths trip and we had a ball. Cannot recommend Pilgrim Paths too highly!

Rocky, Sandy & Team - thank you for organizing our Via Podiensis adventure ! It was truly an amazing trip for me: the lodging was excellent (from luxurious to rustic, a perfect mix) the cost was excellent and down-right cheap and fair (I did not need any refund!) your support during trek was timely and helpful It was very easy to navigate on our own, using mix of your GPX files and Buen Camino. I'm glad that Nancy & I decided to walk on our own, after the guided trip was cancelled. But I did miss hearing 'lectures' about the architecture, history, food and, of course, the geology. And, I was able to put some of my Wilderness First Aid training into practice during our walk when the temps and sunshine got intense. Was able to easily keep myself hydrated with electrolytes - and then keep an eye on Nancy and keep her motivated to finish each stage. And I quickly determined how much we could safely walk each day, and adjust with morning taxi rides to day starts. Even the taxis were cheap ! Much thanks for our hosts for helping us setup our rides. I will always recommend Pilgrim Paths - and look forward to more pilgrimages in the future. My next walk will be Hadrian's Wall in May, with one of my brothers and his wife - they are both archeologists - so am looking forward to that. Perhaps I could tag on a southern England pilgrimage, organized by Rocky ! Cheers, evvy g

Rocky booked accommodations for 44 days including pre and post trip, a huge amount of work. She also had to change bookings because of family changing plans, busy time of year on Camino. Vast majority were excellent even when modest and the couple that were not were idiosyncratic. Pilgrims Path has tremendous knowledge of the Camino and a high service orientation.

The Portuguese Camino de Santiago is a wonderful, mystical experience. We think it helps to have a purpose in the pilgrimage: this should be more than just a hike through the countryside, it should be a period of personal and spiritual growth. We appreciated having our luggage transferred and having hotel accommodations arranged for each night along the way. The hotels were all good, a couple were very good, but the Camino is the reason to make this journey. Concluding in the magical, lovely city of Santiago capped our week in a perfect way.

We had a wonderful time on our self-guided trip. Rocky did a fabulous job of finding great lodgings at appropriate distances, so that we still had some energy for sightseeing at the end of the day. We got our miles in but weren’t too exhausted to enjoy the locations! The places we stayed were very good, and we found ourselves trying to figure out which ones we wanted to return to in the future. In addition, she gave us a heads up whenever dining options would be limited, and how to contact the local restaurants ahead of time, especially near Easter in a Jubilee year! She also helped with alternative transport for some other pilgrims that we met up with, and provided us with back-up when we weren’t sure we could do the miles due to illness - it was wonderful to have options! Sandy was, of course, a great cheerleader along the way as well. We now have done a guided trip and a self-guided trip through Pilgrim Paths, and are grateful we’ve had the opportunity, and can’t recommend them highly enough. Tom
